Point Chevalier

Point Chevalier has an eclectic mix of the fashionable and the long-established, with plenty of great options for those buyers wanting to renovate a largely untouched old house – many of which have generous gardens. There is an enormous amount of character here, with predominantly 1920s bungalows as well as Art Deco houses from the 1930s and 1940s. In recent years a number of larger architect-designed homes have appeared close to Point Chevalier Beach.

The suburb is close to the popular areas of central Auckland, Ponsonby, Grey Lynn, Herne Bay and Mt Albert. Transport links to Auckland’s Central Business District are great, and there are well-regarded schools in the district, with a growing number of local restaurants, cafes and shops. Great North Road has a full range of shopping and services.

Nearby attractions include the Auckland Zoo, Western Springs (both within walking distance), Auckland’s popular Museum of Transport and Technology (MOTAT), and a number of secluded bays, reserves, and good sports facilities.
